Anti-Paxos

Antipaxos or Andipaxos (Greek: Αντίπαξος) is a small island (5 km²) in Greece, about 3 kilometers to the south of Paxos. It reported a population Anti Paxos has a population of less than 100 inhabitants, and is administratively part of the municipality of Paxoi in Corfu Prefecture in western Greece.

Largely covered in vineyards, It has three main beaches Vrika (white sand), Mesovrika (pebbles) and Voutoumi (pebbles).   Voutoumi's shore line is pebble but under foot in the water there is white sand.  Here you have some of the finest clear blue seas in the world for swimming and snorkelling, its safe for all ages to enjoy. South of these two beaches are many smaller more private coves that can be reached without too much difficulty.  There are tavernas on both beaches and above Voutoumi Beach is the Bella Vista taverna, with its wonderful views along the coast of Anti Paxos and across to Paxos - a short sharp climb but more than worth the effort.

They can be reached by 15-minute ride with a sea-taxi from the port of Gaios in Paxos and is only 2 kilometers or so south of Paxos. Excursion boats from Paxos to Anti Paxos run frequently in the summer, the trip takes about 15 minutes and you can spend the whole day there if you like.

Inland, Anti Paxos is very different from its larger neighbor Paxos and is well worth exploring. A network of narrow paths and tracks leads through the fields and over the undulating countryside past orchards, vineyards and the walled gardens of the houses in the village of Vigla down to the small harbour of Agrapidia and the quiet coves in the south of the island. The terrain is steep and uneven in places and good walking shoes are recommended. There are no shops on the island.
